FLIGHTS + AIRPORTS

There are two international airports to fly into in Paris: Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY). Orly is mostly used for domestic flights, while CDG is where most flights from North America arrive. Consider scheduling your travel to arrive in Paris at least one to two days before events begin to allow yourself time to adjust from jet lag and acclimate. Wedding festivities will begin Friday, May 17, 2024, so we suggest arriving on Wednesday, May 15 or Thursday, May 16.

TRANSPORTATION

From the Airport:

Taxi: We recommend taking a taxi from the airport to your hotel in Paris. Make sure to follow the signs in the airport to the official taxi line and only take a taxi from this official point. Do not take rides from any other providers. The taxi ride from the airport into the city will be a flat rate of 45 - 50€, so don’t be concerned when your taxi driver doesn’t start the meter for your ride! Visit this page for more information about taxis at Charles de Gaulle.

Train: If you’re feeling adventurous or you’re familiar with the Paris train system, you can take the RER B line into the city. The cost will be about 10€ one way. Click here for more information.

We do not recommend taking Uber or other ride sharing services from the airport as the process can be very confusing and complicated when it comes to pick up.

While Touring Paris:

While Uber will be the easiest option for transportation around Paris, the Metro will be the fastest (and most affordable!). When using Uber, be prepared to add 10 to 20 additional minutes onto your travel time to account for stop-and-go crosstown traffic. If you would prefer not to use Uber, your hotel concierge can coordinate taxis for your transportation needs.

The great thing about the Metro is that you don’t have to account for traffic. Phone apps like Citymapper are so user-friendly and make taking the Metro around the city a breeze. You can purchase single-journey tickets, a booklet of tickets, or a week pass at the kiosks in any Metro station. Walking is also a fabulous way to immerse yourself into the beauty of Paris and become familiar with the city.

Transportation will be provided for all guests on the day of the wedding to and from the Château de Champlâtreux.

WHERE TO STAY

The beautiful city of Paris is divided into arrondissements. Each arrondissement has its own character and different adventures to offer! Ashley and Brock, their families, and the wedding party will be staying in the 1st arrondissement for the wedding weekend. There will be wedding events in this arrondissement, and it is packed with can’t-miss shopping to famous sites and museums. Guest transportation to the wedding venue will be leaving from the 1st arrondissement as well. If you would like to select a hotel in the 1st arrondissement, you will find recommendations below at a variety of price points. The 2nd and 6th (Saint-Germain-des-Prés) arrondissements are also great nearby areas to consider for your stay. You can also find some suggestions in the 2nd and 6th arrondissements below.
